R Family Medical Group
R Family Medical Group was established in 2012. The medical staff is family centered, led by David A. Ramos, MD, his mother, Betty Jean Ramos-Dobry, PA-C and his uncle, David J. Gomez, PA-C. Together they bring more than thirty years of medical experience and expertise to the San Antonio community.

R Family Medical Group’s vision is to improve our patient’s experience of care, the health of our San Antonio community and reducing the per capita cost of healthcare.

Our Team
David A. Ramos, MD
Dr. Ramos graduated in 1997 from Central Catholic High School. He received his Bachelor of Science in 2001 from St. Mary's University. Dr. Ramos received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine in 2007. Dr. Ramos completed a three-year family medicine residency at University Hospital in San Antonio.
Dr. Ramos is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Bexar County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association. He is a Certified BioTE® provider. In 2013, Dr. Ramos was named one of San Antonio's Best Family Medicine Doctors by his peers. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
Betty Jean Ramos - Dobry, PA-C
Betty graduated from Southwestern College in 1982 with an Associate of Science in Nursing. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1999 from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio (UTHSCSA). Betty earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies in 2002 from UTHSCSA. Betty excelled at the UTHSCSA Physician Assistant Honor Roll, Dean' List, and graduated Summa Cum Laude. She was recognized as the Outstanding Physician Assistant Student from UTHSCSA (PA Class of 2002). She obtained a Masters in Physician Assistant Studies in 2006 from the University of Nebraska.
Betty is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. Betty maintains her Texas Registered Nurse License. She is a Certified BioTE® provider.
Betty has more than fifteen years of experience in the home health care industry. She specializes in geriatric medicine, advanced wound care treatment, menopausal symptom relief, and well woman exams. She is fluent in English and Spanish.
David J. Gomez, PA-C
David J. Gomez graduated from Fox Tech High School in 1986 and served five years in the United States Army. In 2001, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He was a member of the Dean's list.
David is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). He is a member of Texas Academy of Physician Assistance and Bexar County Physician Assistant Society. David is a Certified BioTE® provider.
David has a special interest in treating all aspects of health including disease prevention and in motivating patients to make positive lifestyle modifications. He has been practicing in the South and West side communities of San Antonio for over 12 years. David is fluent in English and Spanish.
Araceli Sierra, PA-C
Araceli earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1997 from the University of Texas in Austin. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies in 2002 from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.
She is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Araceli is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. She is a Certified BioTE® provider.
Araceli joined R Family Medical Group in 2013. She has ten years of experience in pediatric care. She has a special interest in menopausal symptom relief, adult care, and well woman exams. Araceli is fluent in English and Spanish.
Candace C. Burrell-Miramontes, RN, FNP-C
Candace joined R Family Group in October 2017. She graduated in 2006 from Incarnate Word High School. Candace earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2013 from the University of the Incarnate Word. In 2017, Candace completed her Masters of Science in Nursing.
I pursued a Nurse Practitioner certification because I want to do more for my patients. I strongly believe that I can help patients get back to their optimal state of health by helping them physically, emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. As a Nurse Practitioner my goal is to manage our patients health care across their life span in a changing health care system.My emphasis is on health promotion and primary care management of acute and stable chronically ill patients.
Candace is a Certified BioTE® provider.
Geoffrey M. Gonzales, PMHNP-C
Geoffrey joined R Family Medical Group in September of 2020. He was born and raised on the westside of San Antonio. He is a graduate of Holy Cross High School. In 2005, he graduated from the University of the Incarnate Word with a bachelor's degree in nursing. In 2009, he graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio with a master's degree in Nursing.
He is board certified through the ANCC to treat children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric population for mental health conditions. He has ten years of experience in both the hospital and outpatient psychiatric settings.
Geoffrey was drawn to treating mental health patients with the knowledge that physical and mental health are not exclusive and overall health cannot be achieved unless the mind and body are in unison. The body affects the mind just as the mind affects the body.
Ashlei Wooten, FNP-C
Ashlei graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Kentucky, in May 2012, with a Batchelor of Science degree in Nursing. Ashlei continued her education in nursing by attending Texas A&M University and received her Master of Science in Nursing degree in August 2016 and, at that time, was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing in 2016.
Ashlei is Board Certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; Certified in performing Department of Transportation (D.O.T) physicals, certified as a BioTE® provider, and completed required training program to administer Botox.
After spending years in the hospital treating crisis after crisis, emergency after emergency, Ashlei desired to learn how to prevent these catastrophes from happening. She wanted to treat and be a-part of the long-term development of a patient's mind, body, and soul. She believes the healing starts in the mind and once the mindset is in the right direction the possibilities of healing are limitless".
Ashlei enjoys spending time with her husband, son and traveling.
